we did it! we planned a trip to nuevo vallarta with a little encouragement from my friend. we decided we better take the opportunity while we can (no baby). we've never left the kids for more than a night and i was a little nervous and it was a lot of work to get everything pulled together, but once we were sitting on the beach it was totally worth it! all we really wanted to do was relax, read on the beach and do the zip line. that's exactly what we did!
i wasn't really supposed to go on the zipline, but i had talked to a lot of people beforehand and felt that i would be safe and fine. my doctor wasn't too concerned since i was only 20 weeks at that point. here we are getting ready to go down the longest and highest zip line. it was really fun. there were 15 zip lines and you had to do a little hiking, but it was totally worth it. it was beautiful. at one point i was hanging upside down (all while attached to the harness/zip line). it was really cool, i felt a little sick once i was right side up, but that's ok.
one of our last days we decided to walk down the beach to the fisherman's village. the concierge told us it was about an hour to an hour and a half walk. we thought they were probably over estimating and we could do it under and hour. well, it took us over 2 hours and it was hot, hot, hot. i was so thirsty, but had to go the bathroom so bad that i didn't dare drink anything. matt and i shared the biggest pina colada i've ever seen once we made it to the village!
it was fun to spend time together away from the kids, but it was great to get home. hopefully it won't be another 6 years before we get to take another trip together!
