Head on over
here to see pictures of my family's fun
Halloween Party! Every year my family throws a Halloween Party. It is one of my
favorite traditions that my family does. Matt and I see differently when it comes to holidays and traditions. They aren't nearly as important to him as they are to me. I live for the holidays and traditions that come with them. I love the planning and getting together that they involve. Matt and I were just talking about my first Halloween after moving up here and how depressed I was. Matt was at school, we didn't have a single trick-or-
treater, and no family Halloween Party. It was a bummer. Well, the years have gotten better and we're starting to make or own traditions as well as weaving some of my favorites in there along side the new ones. But, seeing
these pictures made me homesick. I miss hanging out with the family and I'm sad my kids don't get to know my parents the way I knew my grandparents (I am glad they have Matt's parents though), my siblings, and their cousins (and yes, I know it could be worse).
We still had fun around here though. I am finally getting better (a week later). The fever, chills, and body aches have finally left my body, the sore throat is gone, and the antibiotics have kicked in. I went to the doctor and he said I had the classic signs of the swine flu as well as having bronchitis. So, now I'm just trying to regain my strength and energy and kick this hacking cough. It was so awful. I don't remember the last time I was that sick. I'm thankful that Matt was able to work from home for a few days. I could barely get off the couch.
Here are a couple of pictures from our Halloween night. It was laid back. I took Jack to a couple of houses then came home and hacked up a lung (not a smart idea) then Matt took him out. It was fun to have trick-or-
treaters for the first time in our married life. Not a ton, but just enough to make it fun night.

Jack's scary face.

Jack only wanted to be Curious George once in costume.

Getting ready for trick-or-treating.

I'm so sorry you've been so sick! I haven't decided whether to get the swine flu vaccination while I'm pregnant so I've been hiding out! N washing my hands like I have OCD. Love the costumes n I'm glad u had fun. Wish you lived closer:(
What a cute curious george! Loved your costumes, from the earlier post too!
Glad you're feeling better.
Jack's Curious George costume is darling. Glad to hear you are feeling better! That's miserable to feel that sick.
Your kids are so stinkin' cute! I love Jack's costume. I'm sorry you didn't get to go to "The Leeflang Mash". I know how hard it is for you to live away from your family. I really, really hope you get to move back someday. And I am so glad you're feeling better!
glad you are feeling better!
