the beginning of august [almost] the entire family packed up and headed to bear lake for my parents 40th wedding anniversary. it was so much fun! it's been a long time since we were all up there together with all of the water "toys". we spent most of our days at the beach playing, talking and relaxing! we also ate lots of yummy food and watched lots of the olympics. it was hot, but we had a lot of fans running and it was nice that it cooled off at night. i wish i had more pictures... but i didn't take very many.
the olds brought this awesome 10 ft. water island. we got a shot of all 14 grandkids once we pulled it out of the water. the classic moment of the trip was me trying to get on the island out in the deep water. sjaanie was trying to hoist me up by my feet, katie was trying to pull me up by my arms and i was trying to wiggle my way up. i looked like a beached whale. it was pretty awesome! the kids loved it and spent hours out in the water.

cute sophie! she loved playing in the sand. both of my kids loved tubing, jet skiing and catching frogs. i even got to ride on the boat. no water skiing or tubing for me this year, but i did go on the wave runners with my kids. it was so fun. it didn't put me into labor, but it sure gave me a lot of contractions and definitely sent me in the right direction!
my parents took all of us to the raspberry days rodeo. the kids loved it. my nephew drake fully participated. he caught the chicken and rode one of the sheep out of the pen. it was hilarious!
