after two years of unsuccessful swimming lessons i decided to get serious and sign jack up at swim kids. i had heard really good things about this place, but was hesitant to spend the money. i really feel like it's important for kids to know how to swim and how to swim properly for their own safety. jack really struggled with teachers in the past even in private lessons. i was hopeful that with his age and a different approach to swimming we would have some success this year. it has been amazing! after a month jack is swimming across the pool alternating between front crawl and floating on his back. he also started jumping off the diving board, bringing himself up to a back float and flipping over to front crawl to the side of the pool. i'm so proud of my little man, this is huge for him and his cautious personality! he's loving it and has a great teacher. i originally was going to sign sophie up at the community pool, but i've been so happy with swim kids and feel like it is so much more efficient that i signed sophie up for lessons once a week. they get one on one for 15 minutes instead of a few minutes over the course of 30 minutes with all of the other kids. sophie just had her first lesson and was so excited after watching jack the past month. she hopped right in and started diving for her rings, floating on her back and swimming to the side. what a different personality! i have some really cute videos, but they won't pull up...
