we had our first summer trip to bear lake the beginning of june. it doesn't matter if we go up for a day or a week, i always come home feeling refreshed. i love it up there and am grateful that we have a place to "get-away". my parents have done an awesome job on the cabin and are so kind to share with all the kids in the family!
my cute niece, julia, came with us and was a huge help. she played and played and played with the kids. they had a great time! here they are playing superheroes. i love the face jack is making. so cute!
here's my mom working away in the kitchen. my parents are in the middle of remodeling the kitchen (they're even putting in a dishwasher... hooray!). the new cabinets are in and the new counter is on it's way! the bathrooms are almost finished as well. they are looking very nice.
my dad was up there for a day so went on a nice bike ride. my rear is not used to riding 20 miles. i was sore for a while, but it was so fun and so beautiful! the water is so high, it's up in the rocks and bushes.... yuck, but beautiful. i'll be wearing my flip flops in the water this year! the water was so cold with all of the snow melt that we just put our feet in. we're heading back up next week and i'm hoping it will be a smidgen warmer. i'm taking my wetsuit and am hoping to get a bit of open-water training in. i might have brain freeze, we'll see how it goes.
my cute kids, we missed matt. it's always more fun when he gets to come (i wish it were more often).
