mission field

elder boynton & elder reed

it's pretty cool to live out here in the 'mission field'. there are so many experiences that i wouldn't otherwise have if i didn't live outside utah (i'm definitely not saying i want to be 'out here' forever, matt). we have our own elders in our ward which means we get to have them over for dinner fairly regularly. i love that jack gets to see them in our home and hear their messages. he's familiar with them. they are often times standing outside the chapel each sunday greeting everyone as they enter. it's a pretty unique and cool thing (well, at least as far as i'm aware of).

the elders were at our house last night and were giving a message on faith. i find myself quietly going about my business everyday and if an opportunity arises, instead of speaking up and standing up for what i believe in, i usually quietly continue on my way. it freaks the 'bageebees' out of me and puts me way out of my comfort zone when some religious topics are brought up. i don't feel confident enough to really share my beliefs with somebody else.

with that said, i know i need to have more faith and not be so afraid. my testimony can only be strengthened by sharing it with others and standing up for what i believe in.
