i just stumbled upon this blog, the krazy coupon lady, on heather's blog. i haven't had a chance to really look into it, but if it's as good as it sounds this just may be my lucky day!
do any of you (particularly you locals) have any good suggestions for deals on grocery shopping here in redmond?
i've also been working on stocking up my food storage. safely gathered in is a site i've found with a lot of very helpful information, recipes, etc. i know that in utah most grocery stores do case lot sales. do any of you know if there are stores here in washington that do that as well?

Wow, what a great blog! Thanks for posting this. I'll be sure to check it for some good coupons.
haven't heard of krazy coupon lady, but i'll check it out. and i've never heard of a local case lot sale, but (unless the ad specifies a limit), you can buy sale items by the case-load. sometimes it's easiest when you see something on sale for a great price to call the store and special-order it because they most likely won't have the quantity you want available. I just recently ordered like 250 cans of beans @ 50 cents a can from Top and 100 jars of spaghetti sauce from safeway. albertsons has also done special order for me and mary asplund told me that bartells will also special order at their ad prices.
Michelle B did a bit on food storage and she said Cash and Carry has sales on staple items like flour, sugar, etc. (unlike Costco), but you have to go there to see what's on sale for the month. Last month they had chicken on sale for $1 something per pound, but it's in HUGE amounts, like a 40 pound bag, so best to split it with friends or something. Chicken is our main meat, so I should have worked out something. Ah well. Next time.
I have never been to Cash and Carry. I should go check it out this week and see what's on sale for the month. :) I'll let you know what I find.
I'm going to check out the blog now! I'm always looking for ways to save money on groceries. It's the most unpredictable expense for me.
I've been couponing for several months now and have built up quite the food storage for us. For example last week I paid $11.11 at Albertsons and got 4 boxes of nature valley granola bars, 4 bags of betty crocker cookie mix, 4 tubs of frosting, and 2 packages of betty crocker warm delights. It seems like there is something else I got in that trip that I'm forgetting. Anyway, it takes a lot of time to figure everything out every week and at some stores like Walgreens and Rite Aid, you need to shop the day of or day after the ad comes out or everything will be gone. I pay literally pennies for stuff. To me, it's been worth the time it takes.
Cash and carry is awesome!
